metal mount, porcelain, the cobalt blue body with gilt edging, neck and the round base with burnished and matt gilt floral garlands, reeds and medallions, the facing side with polychrome painted landscape with reclining couple Mars and Venus, next to them Cupid with a dog, among clouds the chariot of Venus with swans, light blue band, led by 2 amorettes, the bottom left inscribed H. Poitevin, framed by gilt acanthus leaves and bell flowers, geometric decoration and delicate leafy vines, the reverse side with lake landscape and village view, the opening with yellow metal liner and moulded acanthus wreath, Bacchus head handles, the base of the body and knop with acanthus leaves, octagonal curving plinth, height 93 cm, liner slightly loose, France, c. 1880 (Ru)
