Stanislav Libenský – probably the most important Czech glass artist and teacher of the 2nd half of the 20th century. After studying at the glassmaking schools in Nový Bor and Železný Brod, he graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Stanislav Libenský returned to the Glass School in Nový Bor in 1945 and led the department of drawing and etching. Besides teaching, he also worked as a freelance artist. In this period, he made vases of simple shapes made of clear glass, decorated with etchings and transparent enamels. On his vases, the author depicts vivid tales inspired by the circus, dance, the Orient or the Bible.
One of the most beautiful scenes is the motif of Adam and Eve cast out of Eden, which we are offering here.
