Central Anatolia (Turkey), c. 205 x 137 cm, beginning of the 19th century, two hooked red emblems with trees of life, cubic and ‘S’-shaped motifs on soft apricot-coloured field, the ten funnel-shaped secondary motifs depict heavily stylised tulips, the mihrabs surrounded by white arrows at both ends are part of the design repertoire of early Anatolian village rugs; ends with kilim remains, the original side edges have survived, partially low pile due to age.
