France, Louis XVI period, c. 1780, mostly oakwood, with tulipwood and amaranth veneer as well as marquetry panels, the front with 2 doors, 1 drawer and fall-front writing surface, enclosing a fitted interior with 6 small drawers and open compartments, new gold embossed leather covering, the back support indistinctly stamped, probably F. A. YON (François Antoine Yon, master as of 1782), moulded marble top (Saint Anne), gilt bronze mounts, c. 150 x 88 x 38 cm, beautiful and professionally restored condition. (MIN)
