West Turkestan, c. 1267 x 41 cm, 19th century, warp: wool, weft: wool and cotton, pile: wool and cotton, symmetrical tent strap knot on 2 to 4 warp threads; this extremely large tent strap was produced in mixed technique with warp-faced plainweave and raised pattern knotting, especially noteworthy are the white parts of the pattern made of cotton and the weft threads also partly executed with cotton; this band is entirely preserved, with beautiful brocaded woven finishes, fringes and cords, and slight edge damage.
