West Turkestan, c. 68 x 123 cm, mid-19th century, this Tekke chuval with Salor gul and “sagdag” secondary motifs features a small chuval gul in the centre of the flattened primary motifs, the border shows a “chajkelbagi” pattern typical of the Tekke, very beautiful elem design with alternating colours and alternating blossoming trees; soft, velvety pile wool, two stitched tears to the upper right, newly overcast side edges, trimmed all around.
