West Turkestan, c. 240 x 172 cm, mid-19th century, a central carpet fragment with 4 rows of 10 Tekke and “kurbaghe” secondary guls as well as tertiary motifs, border with four stars in the octagons and dividing pattern decorations, the present fragment captivates the viewer with its intense red colour and velvety, dense pile; deep pile with numerous repairs and minor losses, both finishes with kilim remains, the left border missing, entirely mounted on linen.
