glass, colourless, conical sides with polished pearl border, cut depiction of a palace, in the pediment is displayed the small coat of arms and on the reverse side the large coat of arms, above the palace the dedication 'Concordia parva res crescunt Discordia maxima dilabuntur, D: XXVIII May, 1750', sides with flower and foliate tendrils, reverse side with coat of arms in cartouche, emblazoned: 'das Stammwappen gespalten, dreifach wechselweise von Silber und Rot geteilt, Helmzier und Pokal mit 3 Federn', flanked by palm branches with diagonal bands and pearls, tied at centre, base of body with seven pierced air bubbles, large olive cuts and facet cuts, two small noduses and one large nodus connected on inside with air column, outside with facet cuts, curved base with concave disks and large cut flowers with foliate branches, pontil mark, height 23 cm, Saxony, 28 May 1750 (Ru)

The dedication reads: 'EINIGKEIT WENN NOCH SO KLEIN LÄSST HABE WACHSEN, GROSSE UNEINIGKEIT ZERFALLEN'. The family of Ponickau was a very respected and wealthy family in Saxony, Oberlausitz and Silesia. Some members of the Ponickau family included chamberlains of electoral Saxony, from which there possibly arose the connection to chamberlain Erik Hans Karl von Arnim, castle Kriebstein. He was a Saxon owner of manors, master of castle Kriebstein and Royal Saxon chamberlain at the Dresden court. Proof of provenance of the goblet: inheritance of the von Arnim family. Hans Henning von Arnim, Royal Saxon chamberlain and wife Luise, née Freiin von Berg;
