He was entrusted with overseeing flower painting and higher painting in 1816. Flonesics-Braun: Josef Nigg... had enjoyed the usual education at the Academy and was accepted in to the manufacture as flower painter on 1.8.1800. He first worked under Josef Parmann, and was given awards in 1804 and 1806. His most important works were created between 1820 and 1840. He painted his flower pieces following older masters, Huysum and RachelRuijsch. Many of his paintings were taken into the estate of the Imperial family, the courts of Naples, England, Russia, Egypt and Persia as well as numerous museums and galleries such as Dresden, Sévres, Milano and London.
