An extraordinary group 'Elefant mit Mohr, - Mobili e oggetti d'arte

bronze-dore Sockel, Uhrturm und Uhrgehäuse sowie japanischer Mutter mit Papagei und 2 Kindern', porcelain, three-dimensional gilded bronze plinth with relief palm branches, foliate plants and foliate rocailles, on which there is a standing elephant with grand purple blanket and fine violet pattern, gold-lined caparisons and eleven golden tassels, right and left side with green medallions, orange décors and white edges as well as precious stones in gold settings, framed by golden jags on white bands with white festoons, head part with green and opal precious stones, on which a seated African man with feather headdress on his head, holding an axe and two golden arrows in his hands, on the back of the elephant there is a white porcelain plinth with light turquoise and light purple palmettes as well as golden dome festoons, fine and wide gold edges with colourful and opal precious stones in gold settings as well as gold-heightened volutes, bronze dore clocktower with half-plastic bamboo trunks, front with golden dial with apocryphal sign and black hands on relief golden rosette, reverse side has a colourless matte lockable glass door, pendulum and key included, crowned by a young Japanese mother holding a parrot in her right hand, lovingly watching her children, the boy holding a small parasol in his left hand, the small kneeling daughter delivering a basket of flowers, at the side an earth plinth with a porcelain vase with flower bouquet, height 49.5 cm, plinth length 37 cm, depth 17 cm, minor restored areas. Clock in working order with half hour repetition, Meißen, underglaze blue sword mark 1860-1880, on belly, model like war elephant II for Tsarina Catherine II by Johann Joachim Kändler 1773, model of Japanese woman with parrot and two children by Johann Joachim Kändler 1759 (Ru)
