„Tapestry is visual synthesis of architecture and space“ Suzana Gojnic

Suzana Gojnic was born in Podgorica, Montenegro, in 1965. From 1986 to 1991 she studied at the University of Applied Arts and Design in Belgrade at the Institute of Textile Art. From 1991 to 1996 she completed postgraduate studies at the University of Applied Arts and Design. From 2008 to 2016 she completed her teacher training at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with a thesis entitled “Zenit: avant-garde in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (1921-1926)”. She has held numerous solo exhibitions of her work. 1994: exhibition entitled “Free Art”, at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. 1996: exhibition of tapestries and drawings at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. 1999: Vienna International Centre. 2002: exhibition entitled “ZenGespräche” at the Kunstraum Palais Porcia in Vienna. 2005: “Shinergy” exhibition, Venice, Art life of the World. Honours and prizes: 1993 in Belgrade: Art pavilion Cvijeta Zuzoric, 25th May Salon, special prize for unique carpet “Punkt” (200 x 300 cm). 2005 in Vienna: H. O. M. E. Semper Depot, Design, Young Design from Central Europe, first prize for textile design.
