A vase with decoration by Franz Hofstötter for the 1900 Paris World’s Fair, Johann Lötz Witwe, Klostermühle, 1900
prod. no. 1741/I (c. 1890), new no. 797 (1900); decoration: Franz Hofstötter, metallic yellow ‘Phänomen Gre’ 356 (1900);
clear glass with thin yellow underlay, the clear top layer wrapped in wide silver-yellow stripes; the bottom with orange overlay stretching into pointed tongues, covered by linear applications in silver-yellow and brown shades, shaped into a zigzagging pattern; the side with four indentations, mould-blown, pared-down and with matted iridescence; the underside signed Loetz Austria, matt carved on the ground pontil mark;
height 14.2 cm. (MP)
