An early, rare office chair on castors, mod. no. JH502, designed by Hans J. Wegner
c. 1955, for master carpenter Johannes Hansen / Denmark, swivelling adjustable construction on castors, with four-legged chromium-plated metal base frame, upholstered black leather cover, ergonomic seat and armrests made of solid oak wood, supported with chromium-plated metal. Marked with manufacturer’s plaquette: “JH JOHANNES HANSEN CABINETMAKER COPENHAGEN DENMARK DESIGN H J WEGNER”. Height c. 76 cm, width c. 73.5 cm, depth c. 47.5 cm. (MHA)
Original condition. A rare, early version on a four-legged metal base frame with castors.
The model was introduced at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition in 1955.
