France, 1947, pared-down structures reduced to basic geometric shapes, with square ceiling plates, metal frames, overlapping white and red acrylic shades, black coated exterior and white coated interior of the metal parts, old fixtures, dimensions of each lamp: height c. 135 cm, without guarantee for electrical fitting. This design was developed in 1947 parallel to Christian Dior’s “Ligne Corolle” (i.e. calyx line) in fashion design, anticipating the formal vocabulary of the 1960s.
