based on Italian Renaissance chests, executed in the second half of the 19th century, rectangular funnel-shaped walnut frame on carved lion paws, freestanding with additional hardwoods, featuring scenes of courtly battue hunts with ivory inlays, carved heads of mythical creatures at the 4 corners, richly moulded cover, c. 82 x 180 x 75 cm, slight signs of age and use.
