porcelain, octagonal serving tray 29 x 38.5 cm, coffee pot with cover 13.5 cm, milk jug with cover height 12.5 cm, 1 centrepiece for sugar height 14 cm, dia 12.5 cm, 2 drip-pans with saucers height 6 cm, dia 13.5 cm, the cylindrical body with fine gold interior edge, the exterior with gold and pale green edging, bright gold painted arches and chevron borders on matte gold bands, borders with gold foliate and floral festoons on chamois coloured ground, octagonal reserves with polychrome painted landscape and cloudy sky with individual scenes; 1 cup depicts “summer and autumn”, the seated genius (tutelary spirit) wears a corn wreath on her head and holds corn bundles in her left hand, whilst in the right she carries a cornucopia with fruits with Cupid’s help; 1 cup depicts a “Cupid statue”, he stands on a fluted pedestal with shield and staff in his hands, a young woman kneeling in front of him, proffering a white dove; the coffee pot depicts “Be careful, lovers, Cupid sleeps”, a seated young woman with sleeping Cupid, behind them a boy with his bow; the milk jug depicts “Cupid disarmed by Euphrosyne”, she holds his bow and arrows in her hands, whilst Cupid demands them back; the tray depicts a monument with Venus and Cupid, with a fireplace and a virgin on the side, she pours oil into the fire from a golden bowl and looks pleadingly at the Venus monument, framed by shiny gold ovals with dots on a matte gold band, angular gilt handles, the sugar bowl with 2 gold snake handles on each side, slender foot and square base with 4 claw feet, small restorations, Vienna, Imperial Manufactory, underglaze blue Austrian shield, dated 1798, 1799, turner U Johann Hard as of 1772, no. 8 Michael Weichselgartner 1784-1830, no. 29 Michael Lorenz 1780-1827 (Ru)
