China, c. 142 x 204 cm, (width incl. shoulders and sleeves); Qing or Manchu Dynasty, Jiaxing Period (1796 - 1820), semi-formal silk male robe (jifu) in silk and gold embroidery on “airy”, coarse-meshed blue embroidery ground, with short middle and right continuous slit, incl. original buttons, the inside of the coat is additionally lined with a depiction of a dragon, the lapel and neck in filigree execution, an extremely rare piece in fantastic state of preservation without any appreciable defects.
