Fragment of a Coptic Tunic,
Egypt (Northeast Africa), c. 71 x 106 cm (incl. frame), c. 6th century, lower fragment of a knitted tunic with figural ornamental stripes and round pattern inserts, human figures with overemphasised head and limbs in Coptic style, wool and linen have been used as materials, the red parts are coloured with purple dyes, lower end with original finish, all other sides are trimmed, professionally mounted on fabric and wood frame and preserved behind plexiglass - a museum-quality collector’s piece.
