A lady’s coin set by Tanfani, from an old European aristocratic collection
gold 750, partly fine-gold coloured, filigree decoration partly silver, tetradrachm of Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC), flanked by two staters from Corinth (4th century BC), other Greek coins from the 3rd century BC are arranged symmetrically: hemidrachms and tetrobole from, inter alia, Taranto and Histiaia All coins are original and depict the heads of ancient deities and nymphs. Workmanship second half 19th century, consisting of: necklace, length c. 44 cm, a pair of ear pendants, 109.2 g, in fitted case inscribed A. Tanfani Rome with personal monogram M. R.
