Gunnar Mauritz Widforss was a Swedish-American artist who is above all known as landscape painters of American National Parks. Widforss studied art, craft and design at the university. After graduation in 1900 he travelled to Saint Petersburg, between 1904 and 1909 he went to Austria, Switzerland, the Mediterranean region, North Africa and North America. From 1900 onwards Widforss stayed in California where he concentrated on painting American National Parks including the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone.
