A censer in the form of a pagoda, - Vetri e porcellane

Böttger porcelain, white, glazed, seated on a curving base with grooved rim, the left leg tucked, the right hand holding a cup with saucer supported by the left knee, the right foot naked, in the foreground a tea pot with lid, the left hand under the left knee, with tufts of hair behind the ears, ears perforated and parted lips as smoke vents, hollow body, height: 10 cm, the neck pasted, small cup and saucer and edge of the base with old restoration, the handle of the pot and the spout chipped, front base broken off, Meissen, no mark ca. 1715 (Ru)

Pagodas are based on Chinese models such as the god of fortune "Pu-tai-Ho-shang", who during the Tang Period advanced from a mendicant to an immortal.
