The silkscreen "Egypt, 2003" is based on a photograph depicting the meeting between Colin Powell and Hosni Mubarak in Sharm El Sheik in October 2003. In Tuymans' interpretation of the picture, however, it is not the two politicians who are in the foreground, but the anonymous location of the meeting staged by the media.
