Victoria of Great Britain, Princess Royal, daughter of Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Queen Victoria of Great Britain, married the future King of Prussia and German Emperor Frederick III. This bangle was a personal gift to her cousin Princess Marie (Mary) of Hanover, daughter of King George V of Hanover. The engraved dedication reads: "To dearest Mary in remembrance of her most affectionate Cousin and Friend Victoria Przs. Royal".
