Southwest Caucasus, c. 242 x 165 cm, late 19th century. The pattern arrangement of this rustic carpet is already special, since a well-proportioned second central medallion has been integrated into the classic type. These four medallions, surrounded by a multitude of decorative motifs and a date (1325), are surrounded by a turquoise-green border with eight-leaf rosettes. Manufactured on blue cotton warp and with cotton edges, in best wool and colour quality, with cloth-like feel, very well preserved for its age. (VP)
