poorly legible, porcelain, 4 telescopic elements, cover, neck, base and foot with cobalt blue ground, gilt edges, gold meandering frieze and laurel wreath with acanthus leaves, wide gilt edges and fluting with gold pearl lines, arched borders, yellow metal mount with raised laurel twigs, baluster with all-round painted decoration depicting a magnificent interior with luxurious furnishings, large gold centrepieces with rose bouquets and rose garlands, the young monk Francesco Petrarca and a young bride, Laura, the cardinal Colonna Giovanni and probably the bridegroom de Noves, surrounded by the festive parish, arcades with trees in the garden and tower at the wall square, signed J. Gunt. 1613 on the back, round pedestal with three different colourfully painted scenes in interiors, on the throne the queen bidding farewell to the young prince by holding his hand, a priest is watching from the side, interior with vault and table and an open book, indicated by two gentlemen who urge the queen standing next to it to sign it, the queen holds a lace cloth in her left hand to dry her tears, opposite is the commander, a bourgeois parlour with family, the father, young son and the reading grandmother seated at a table, the mother standing and watching, each image signed A. Francesco Petrarca, Arezzo 20 July 1304-19 July 1374 Arqua, Italian poet and historian. His father was banished from Florence for supporting the pope. At the age of 7 Petrarca followed him to Avignon, from 1316 he studied law in Montpellier, and from 1320 onwards in Bologna. In 1326 he returned to Avignon and received the lower Orders.
On Easter Monday, 6 April 1327, he saw a young woman, whom he called Laura - probably Laura de Noves, who was 16 years old at that time and married young. She had a strong impact on him, who venerated her as an ideal female figure and a lasting source of poetic inspiration, from his infatuation in 1327 until her death in 1348.
