Ernst Wahliss already owned porcelain department stores in London and Vienna when he took over the Stellmacher'sche Porzellan-Fabrik in Turn near Teplitz in 1897 and started producing his own porcelain. Between 1900 and 1910, numerous porcelains based on designs by Viennese artists are documented. As early as 1899/1900, he participated in the winter exhibition of the Museum of Art and Industry in Vienna with works in the ‘Copenhagen taste’ of the time. Around this time, Ernst Wahliss became aware of the approximately 600 original moulds of the Imperial and Royal Viennese manufactory, which has been closed in 1864. He bought them from De Cente in order to use them in his own factory in Turn-Teplitz. He died in 1900 and was succeeded by his sons, Hans and Erich.
Johann Elias Ridinger, Ulm 16.2.1698-10.4.1767 Augsburg, German graphic artist, created about 1,600 copper engravings and etchings, especially game and hunting scenes. He was also active as a painter.
