The offered object is from a series of vases in wooden stands, which were produced both by Johann Lötz Witwe, Klostermühle and Meyr’s Neffe. Josef Hoffmann designed his vases for the Bakalowits company at the end of 1899. They were first shown to the public at the Eighth Exhibition of the Vienna Secession in 1900. The vase was also displayed at the exhibition of the works of the Vienna School of Applied Arts, in Vienna in 1901.
