Michael Powolny, a “Lady with Fan” box, WK-model number: 117, designed in c. 1907, executed by Vereinigte Wiener und Gmundner Keramik, 1913–19
box in the shape of a female figure dressed with crinoline, holding a fan before her face; a shawl is wrapped around her arms; the body of the box consisting of the lower half of the skirt, the lid consisting of the rest of the figure; light-bodied ceramic, white and blue glazed; very slightly chipped, professionally restored; marked on the underside with workshop signet, model number 117 and painted 1, A and embossed X; height 16.6 cm.
