Michael Powolny, a larger “Winter” putto (“Winterputto”), model number: 1144, Vereinigte Wiener und Gmundner Keramik, 1913–1915
red-bodied ceramic, with polychrome glazes; professionally restored, minor chipping; on the reverse of the lower base embossed workshop signets, the latter also on the inside of the base, there additionally the embossed model number 1144; height 77.8 cm. (MP)

In double execution in the vestibule of the ladies’s sauna in Vienna’s Dianabad, executed by Wienerberger in around 1915/16: see Frottier, Michael Powolny, WV 202, model number: 4086; see Wienerberger catalogue, model number: 4086
It can be assumed that this putto was created together with other “seasons’ putti” after the merging of Wiener Keramik with Gmundner Keramik and that the Wienerberger company took over the moulds in 1915/16.
