Wangden Drumze,
Tibet, c. 170 x 90 cm, end of the 19th century. Carpets from Wangden have their own knotting structure, with the wool warp threads clearly visible on the back. The deep pile has a fur-like, heavy feel. These sitting rugs were used by monks as a soft covering for throne seats and rows of seats in Tibetan culture.
