Jack Lenor Larsen was born in Seattle on 5 August 1927. He studied architecture as well as furniture and textile design at the School of Architecture at the University of Washington, Seattle. As early as the 1950s, he stood up for sustainable and environmentally benevolent production and processing methods. For his textile designs, he received numerous awards, including a gold medal at the Milan Triennial in 1964. Jack Lenor Larsen died on 22 December 2020 in his house at East Hampton, New York, at the age of 93.
