- Coronation of Emperor Charles I as King of Hungary (Charles IV), depicting the moment of the coronation with the Crown of Saint Stephen in the Mathias Church in Budapest on 30 December 1916, oil on canvas, signed and dated 'Felix Schwormstädt 1917', 78 x 118 cm, framed, (Lu)

Historically very interesting, detailed painting of the coronation of Charles IV, depicted among others are Cardinal Janos Csernoch, Archbishop of Esztergom and Primas Hungariae, Empress Zita, the Hungarian Prime Minister Count Stefan Tisza and numerous members of the Hungarian higher nobility. The present painting was commissioned as a gift to the newly crowned king. It was probably intended for the inventory of Buda Castle. After the fall of the Habsburg monarchy, the painting was taken abroad.
