Jacques Francqui (1918-1991) was a civil engineer and contributed to the construction of railways in DRC in the 50’s. He was the son of Emile Francqui (1863-1935), Governor of the Société Générale de Belgique, officer, explorer, diplomat and Belgian anti-slavery statesman.
