The theater and film director Silviu Purcarete and his set and costume designer Helmut Stürmer had the action take place in a kind of Mediterranean theater museum, in which the actors slowly come to life. The costumes are historical, but in this theater-within-a-theater play they should also be understood as valuable theater costumes from a rich treasury.
Although the courtier Sir Gualtiero Raleigh is a secondary role, the costume contains the same high quality and attention to detail as those of the main roles. It consists of a frock coat and was made of silk, linen and cotton and is also - according to the rank of courtier – fashioned in silver. The costume was solidly processed with silver paint, which causes it to be very strong and rigid, and has some material damage.
*As the costume was made to measure for the singer, it may differ from the standard size.
