The stage and costume designer of the »La forza del destino« production of 2008 was Richard Hudson, who has worked at the largest international theaters: from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London to the Vienna State Opera. In addition, the award-winning designer - including the Laurence Olivier Award and Tony Award – has made a name for himself in stage drama and on Broadway. He also used this talent for great show effects in »La forza del destino« by having the chorus appear in sensational red at times. Together with the ballet, which could be seen in even gaudier cowboy costumes, the chorus portrayed a group of militarily fanatical fundamentalists who trained their drilled enthusiasm in a religion camp. David Pountney, the director of the production, saw here »the entertainment element, so to speak,« which in the sense of a great Shakespeare tragedy gives the work a comedic counterpoint. The costumes consist of a cap, jacket, trousers and belt, and are made of wool.
It is in very good condition.
