An early Fiji Totokia club.
18th-19th century. 66 cm. A great early war club, often wrongly called 'pineapple club' since the 'bearded' element is modeled after the fruit of the pandanus. These heavy weapons were only handled by chiefs and warriors of the higher ranks. (VJ)
