The granite slab is intended to be used for plants and is only produced in a few examples. The present object is one of the earliest with an intricately hand carved red sandstone slab that is rounded at the front. The later examples produced by Niels Holger Moormann have a light-coloured slab with a straight front edge. In a promotional photograph, the “stone basin” is filled with water, in which water lilies float.
