porcelain, 51 pieces: 2 coffee pots with cover height 24 cm, 2 sugar bowls with cover height 9, 10 cm, 2 jugs height 9, 13 cm, 12 coffee cups with 12 saucers diameter 13.5–14.5 cm, 12 dessert plates diameter 18 cm, 2 circular platters diameter 28 cm, 2 round openwork lattice baskets for bread with 5 reserves each diameter 18 cm, 2 oval openwork lattice bowls for fruit loaf length 25.5 cm, 2 round openwork lattice bowls for cake or pie, 1 round openwork lattice plate diameter 21 cm, the bodies with curving gilt edging, iron-red and gold-painted court dragons with symbols of good fortune from the “infinite knot” with pearl, coin, scroll and artemisia leaf of the Chinese Eight Treasures and phoenix birds
underglaze blue crossed swords mark after 1950 (Ru)

Porzellan Sammlung Dresden im Zwinger, 1998 exhibition collection, p. 166: In keeping with Augustus the Strong’s great enthusiasm for Chinese and, even more, Japanese porcelain, the Meissen dinner service with the “Red Dragon” displays a thorough East Asian influence. Until 1918, the red court dragon décor was reserved exclusively for porcelain used at the Saxon royal court.
