CHRISTIAN LACROIX, born in Arles, France, on 16 May. After graduating from high school, he moved to Montpellier to study French literature. In 1971, he moved to Paris and read art history at the Sorbonne University. In the late 1970s, he began a doctoral dissertation on clothing in 17th-century paintings with the goal of becoming a museum curator.
