Case: gold 750, numbered 60, Englisch gov. hallmark London c. 1890, diameter c. 57 mm
Movement: manual winding, gilt lever movement, numbered 1521, 52,5 minute- carousel, diamond cap, compensation balance, 5 screwed chatons, inscribed: “KEW Observatory Certificate, Specially Good with 91.7 Marks”
Dial: enamel, Roman numerals, central second
Robert Milne was active as a watchmaker in around 1900. He supplied fine observation watches for the Navy. For this reason, the movement bears the stamp “Maker to the Admiralty”. A few models were also delivered with a carousel chronometer. Similar to a tourbillon, the escapement rotates 360 degrees within a specific period of time. The patent comes from Bahne Bonniksen.
