probably Italy, c. 263 x 123 cm, 18th/19th century, liturgical vestment, a semicircular mantle worn by priests for devotional purposes and during processions, floral silk embroidery with gold and silver threads, still preserved back shield (clipeus) with brocaded decorative cord, very beautiful brass fastenings with gems and painted enamel images, comprised of five panels, wholly complete with only minor signs of wear in the pattern, backed with red silk fabric.
