Iran, c. 691 x 430 cm, 1930. A solid oversized carpet from the famous Amoghli workshop in East Persia, which was founded by two brothers, Ali Khan and Abdol Mohammad, in around 1900. The Amogli brothers produced carpets of the highest quality for, among others, the royal house of Pahlavi and Reza Shah. This masterpiece with flower decor on light-coloured ground is a brilliant example of the creativity of this period. Manufactured with c. 360,000 knots/sqm, in good condition. Signed: "Amoghli". (VP)
