Alfred Offner received his first art lessons in Czernowitz from Hugo Zonka. He then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and from 1902 on at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Ludwig von Herteric. Subsequently he participated in art exhibitions in Czernowitz. From 1907 he was member of the Vienna Secession. He produced commercial graphic art – posters, vivat ribbons and book illustrations. Between 1925 and 1931 the artist contributed pastels, oil paintings, portraits and landscapes to the annual exhibitions at the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
