A Pair of Large Floor-Standing Candelabra, - Mobili e anitiquariato, vetri e porcellane

Vienna c. 1800, designed and executed by Johann Hertel in Vienna (attributed), mahogany veneered wooden support, trefoil base with long elegantly shaped shafts terminating in three delicate arms with slightly volutes surmounted by a loop, the latter with six small arms made of gilt bronze with funnel-shaped sconces, the base in the form of a lion’s head, brass inlays in the form of palmette and foliate décor, height c. 191 cm, diameter c. 63 cm, unaltered original condition, small losses to the veneer and brass inlays, one loop slightly bent, sconces drilled for electrical fittings, beautiful age patina.
