porcelain, of cylindrical form, the body with wide gold interior edge, the exterior with narrow gilt edges, 2 pastose bright gold painted lyres in the gold aureole on white ground surrounded by bright gold ground, saucer with the same painted décor and 5 lyres, octagonal reserve with grey painted cloudy sky, in the foreground Cupid with red sash, pointing with his right hand into the future, supported by his quiver of arrows and standing in front of a shining sun, angular gold handle with foliate and console end, height 6 cm, handle rim very slightly chipped, diameter 13.5 cm, with gilt edging on the underside
underglaze blue Austrian shield, dated 1806, turner no. 9 Franz Mohr 1799–1829, black painter no. 96 on both pieces for Anton Kothgasser 1784–1816, the most important gilt design painter at the manufactory (Ru)
