porcelain, gold cover with gold pine finial, cover and body with en grisalle painted beaded frieze, light yellow garland of acanthus leaves with floral festoons and green ivy garland, bright gold chevron border, dark red edging, en grisaille diamond border with rosettes and acanthus leaves on gold ground, body with angular gold handle, the facing side and reverse with polychrome painted Pompeian depictions, Cupid reining in the snail chariot and Cupid whipping the snakes with a palm branch on a dark brown background, surrounded by matte gold arches and palmettes on bright gold ground, on the sides large en grisaille painted acanthus leaf tendrils with red fruit-bearing branches, light purple roses with green sprigs of leaves and green ivy tendrils on bright gold ground, plain knop, round foot, square gold base, height 33 cm, finial restored, baluster with 2 tension cracks on the inside, snake chariot with minor colour loss
