Personal small order cross of Empress Charlotte of Mexico. This medal cross was probably often worn by the empress, as evidenced by the small traces of use on the reverse. Unlike the large order cross in special design from our Imperial House Memorabilia sale on 10/19/2020 (cat. no. 192), this decoration was made for daily use.
Provenance:
Empress Charlotte of Mexico, by inheritance to Archduchess Elisabeth Marie (“Erszi”), only daughter of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria, and heirs.
