before 1931 after a design by Mart Stam for the Weissenhof Estate, manufactured by DESTA (Deutsche Stahlmöbel GmbH), Berlin, 1930s, free-swinging tubular steel constructions, canvas seat and backrest upholstery. Height c. 85 cm, width c. 47 cm, depth c. 66 cm, height of seat c. 46.5 cm. (MHA)

Executed as in the Boroschek apartment in Berlin, furnished by Marcel Breuer, 1930. “ST11 - 12: chairs modelled on Stam’s design for the Weissenhof Estate. A successful variation is the Desta model ST 12. This chair was simultaneously produced by Thonet as B33 and was the reason for Anton Lorenz’s lawsuit against Thonet, which concluded in favour of Lorenz in 1932.” Alexander von Vegesack, Deutsche Stahlrohrmöbel, Munich 1986, p. 47
