Brussels, c. height 350 x width 378 cm, 17th century. Important mythological tapestry depicting the marriage of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great with Flavia Maxima Fausta, daughter of Emperor Maximian, in 307. This dynamic silk and wool weaving is of enormous pictorial effect. With a few losses, minor soiling, and old repairs, in original condition. (VP)
