Brussels, c. height 274 x width 122 cm, end of the 17th century. This silk and wool weaving depicting a summer landscape with girls by a spring probably comes from a series about the seasons. The narrow borders are typical of the Rococo period, the laced bodice, the ruffled skirt with velvet, lace sleeves and dainty shoes show the style of French cartoon painters. With various repairs and traces of use, in original and clean condition. (VP)
